The Code of Wisdom: The Awakening

The Code of Wisdom: The Awakening

Pro 19:16 “He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.”

Rev 22:7,12-15 “Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.”

Pro 13:13-14 “Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded. The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.”

Rev 14:12 “Here is the patience*** of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.”

***Rev 3:10-11 “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.”

Rev 12:17 “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”

What is the testimony of Jesus?

Mat 22:36-40 “Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

Mar 12:28-31 “And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.”

*Luk 10:25-28 “And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.”

*Notice the difference in the testimony that Luke recorded.

The "lawyer" asks about inheriting eternal life instead of asking what the greatest commandment is.

Mind, Soul, Heart, Spirit (Breath/Strength/Might)

Exo 13:9 “And it shall be for a sign unto thee upon thine hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes (mind), that the LORD'S law may be in thy mouth: for with a strong hand hath the LORD brought thee out of Egypt.”

Exo 13:16 “And it shall be for a token upon thine hand, and for frontlets between thine eyes (mind): for by strength of hand the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt.”

Deu 6:4-9,24-25 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love תא the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. (See Mar 12:29-30). And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes (mind). And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. And the LORD commanded us to do תא all these statutes, to fear תא the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. And it shall be our righteousness***, if we observe to do תא all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.” ***See Rev 19:7-8 Fine Linen → The righteousness of saints → Marriage of the Lamb

Deu 11:18-21 “Therefore shall ye lay up these תא my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them (תא) for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes (mind). And ye shall teach them (תא  (תא your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates: That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.”

Pro 3:1-4 “My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck (ornament/chain upon the neck); write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.”

Pro 7:1-3 “My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee (תא). Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.”

How is Yom Teruah related to GOD’s commandments and your Mind, Soul, Heart, and Spirit (Breath/Strength/Might)?

Four Types of Shofar Blasts:

  • Tekiah (strike): a long single blast, signifying GOD being crowned King of the Universe and exalting GOD’s sovereign Name, acknowledging the frontlets (binding) of GOD’s commandments to Zakar (H2142: remembrance, mind)

  • Shevarim (broken): three medium length wail-like blasts, signifying humbling, prayerful repentance and weeping due to a broken Nefesh (H5315: soul) and contrite, fractured, broken Leb (H3820: heart, conscience, inner man)

  • Teruah (warning): nine short staccato blasts of alarm, Ruach (H7307: spirit, breath, wind) to awaken us from spiritual slumber

  • Tekiah HaGadol: a great long blast, for as long as one can blow, to call the congregation to Qahal (H6950: gather) together

The shofar blasts blown on Yom Teruah each call to out to GOD, as well as awakening different parts of our body (mind, soul, heart, spirit), where we should have the love of GOD and HIS commandments written or bound.

H7321: רוּעַ rûwaʻ ↔ H8643: תְּרוּעָה tᵉrûwʻâh (Teruah)

Lev 23:24 “Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets (H8643), an holy convocation (assembly/gathering).”

Num 29:1 “And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation (assembly/gathering); ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets (H8643) unto you.”

Psa 47:1(b),5,9 “O clap your hands, all ye people; shout (H7321) unto God with the voice of triumph. God is gone up with a shout (H8643), the LORD with the sound of a trumpet (shofar). The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.”

Psa 89:15-17 “Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound (H8643): they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance. In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted. For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.”

Our joyful sounds, shouts, and trumpet blasts intercede favorably to GOD.

HE hears us.

But will we hear HIS shout and trump(et) when HE descends from heaven to gather HIS people?

Will the Bride have made herself ready?

Will she awaken, have oil in her lamps, and go out to meet the Bridegroom when He comes?

Mat 24:29-31 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken (G4531): And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet (G4536), and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”

Mar 13:24-27 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken (G4531). And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.”

Luk 21:25-28 “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves (G4535) roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken (G4531). And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. ***And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”

Jesus says the powers of the heavens will shake and there will be a great sound of a trumpet.

The sound of this trumpet is not a Teruah, but the Tekiah HaGadol.

By the time we hear this final trumpet, our mind, soul, heart, and spirit should have GOD as our main focus, ready, humbled, awakened, shaken from spiritual slumber.

Heb 12:25-27 “See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: Whose voice then shook (G4531) the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake (G4579 ROOT) not the earth only, but also heaven. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken (G4531), as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken (G4531) may remain.”

1Th 4:14-17 “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump (G4536) of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

1Co 15:51-53 “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump (G4536): for the trumpet shall sound (G4537), and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”

The “last trump” is the final trumpet blast on Yom Teruah, the Tekiah HaGadol, which calls the righteous congregation, who love GOD and have faith in Jesus, to gather together as our redemption draws nigh.

According to Jewish sages, heaven’s gates are opened on Yom Teruah and closed on Yom Kippur.  They believe on Yom Teruah a person’s name is recorded in the Book of Life, and on Yom Kippur the books are sealed.

The people say to one another, “G’mar chatima tova,” meaning “a good final sealing,” or more loosely translated, “may your name be inscribed in the Book of Life” during the 10 day period starting on Yom Teruah and ending the evening of Yom Kippur.

For those who believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we know that our names can be written permanently, and not just year to year, in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

Psa 12:6 “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”

Mal 3:2-3 “But who may abide תא the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify תא the sons of Levi, and purge them (תא) as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.”

Pro 25:2-5 “It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. The heaven for height, and the earth for depth, and the heart of kings is unsearchable. Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer. Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.”

Will we be wise*** and ready for Jesus’s appearance, purified through obedience and repentance, humbled and awakened?

…Or will we be foolish*** and think we have another 9 days to begin preparing ourselves, and realize we must go through trial and (great) tribulation to be refined, washed, and purified? ***See “Parable of Ten Virgins: Mat 25:1-13

Rev 3:8 “I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door (gate), and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.”

Rev 4:1-2 “After this I looked, and, behold, a door (gate) was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet (G4536) talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.”

Could the opening of the door (gate) in heaven, be the open heavenly gate the Jewish sages are speaking of?

Is this the beginning of Yom Teruah?

Rev 5:1-2,5-7 “And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.”

Jesus, the Lamb, opens 6 seals.  At the opening of the 6th seal, there was a shaking (earthquake), and signs in the sun, moon, stars, and heavens (Rev 6:12-14).

Rev 6:15-17 “And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?”

Will these things cause you fear or will you be excited to see and hear the signs of His appearing?

Will you be willing to lose your life, in exchange for gaining eternal life through our Redeemer, Jesus?

…Or will you be like the seven types of men listed in Rev 6:15 who ran and hid as Jesus approached?

Mat 10:39 “He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.”

Mat 16:25-26 “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.”

Mar 8:35-36 “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

Jhn 12:25 “He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.”

There it is.

If you are willing to lay down your life, you can gain life eternal with Jesus.

When the Jews wish each other “a good final sealing,” it makes me think of the sealing of the 144,000 children of Israel (12,000 per tribe) in Rev 7:1-8.

Imagine if they knew that through this phrase, they are prophesying a future event that is exclusive to the 12 tribes of the children of Israel.

Rev 7:2-3 “And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.”

As Jesus, the Lamb of GOD, opens a book sealed with seven seals, He has 144,000 Jews sealed for their protection. This divine seal indicates that these individuals belong to GOD, and symbolizes possession and security. This sealing ensures that HIS people are preserved through the trials and (great) tribulation to come. This event appears to fulfill prophecy found in Ezekiel 9.

Eze 9:2-4,6,11 “And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar. And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side; And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark (H8420) upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark (H8420); and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house. And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.”

What will this seal or mark look like?

The cross!

The word for mark in Ezekiel is “tav” which is also a letter of the Hebrew aleph-bet.

Eze 37:16-20 “Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim (Gentiles), and for all the house of Israel his companions: And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand. And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou meanest by these? Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take תא the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim (Gentiles), and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them (תא) with him, even with (תא) the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand. And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.”

Paul also describes a joining of sticks together, where he uses a metaphor of an olive tree to explain how Gentiles are like wild olive branches grafted into the cultivated olive tree, which represents Israel.  This grafting symbolizes the inclusion of Gentiles into the spiritual blessings and promises originally given to Israel.  They are both supported by the same root that can be cut off if they do not remain faithful.

Rom 11:16-21 “For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree (Gentiles), wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree (Israel); Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.”

In Revelation 7, after the 144,000 children of Israel are sealed, a great multitude appears in front of the throne and Jesus.  They are from all nations, clothed in white robes, and hold palms in their hands.  An elder identifies them to John as people who came out of tribulation, making their garments white in the blood of the Lamb.

Rev 7:9-10,13-14 “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”

Isa 1:16-18 “Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

How do we wash our robes and make ourselves clean and white in the blood of the Lamb?

The order of the shofar blasts gives us the answer.

The general custom is to first blow Tekiah, followed by Shevarim, followed by Teruah, and to close with Tekiah HaGadol.

With the Tekiah, our mind is shaken, bringing the commandments to remembrance, especially “I am the LORD thy GOD.”  The commandments also remind us what behavior is acceptable and how to love our neighbor as ourselves.  We are told by Jesus in Revelation that those who obey the commandments and have faith in Him will have eternal life.

The Shevarim speaks to our heart and soul and leads to our return to the LORD, humbling ourselves, praying and repenting for our disobedience to the LORD’s commandments and mistreatment of others.  The sounding of the shofar is meant to mimic the sound of weeping and moaning.  In fact, the entire month before Yom Teruah is called “the month of repentance.”  The shofar is sounded every day in Jewish communities during the month of Elul in preparation for Yom Teruah.

Teruah’s short, staccato blasts represent the noise of an alarm clock for our spirit, awakening us from spiritual slumber.  These alarm blasts not only are heard by you, but also GOD.  Our distress call goes up to GOD as a prayer for deliverance from the enemy.

Num 10:9 “And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you (תא) , then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies.”

The final shofar blast, Tekiah HaGadol, is a great, long blast of the shofar.  This ends the series of shofar sounds on Yom Teruah, but it is also sounded at the end of Yom Kippur.  The Tekiah HaGadol on Yom Teruah is for the gathering of all who have made their garments white through the blood of the Lamb and the fulness of the Gentiles.  The Tekiah HaGadol on Yom Kippur is symbolic of GOD’s presence and divine judgment.

In סדר תקיעות, or “Order of Blasts,” there is a Jewish publication named “Order of the Blowing of the Shofar.”  Not only does this detail the Psalm excerpts recited while the shofar is blown, but it also reveals the order and patterns of the shofar blasts.

Here is a link to view 3 pages of this publication:

Shofar Blowing Blessings and Instructions (chabad.org)

On the 3rd page provided, it is revealed that through the seven sounds/patterns of the shofar, seven angels היוצאים (ROOT: H3318) go out and ascend before GOD’s throne to intercede with the prayers of the GOD’s people.

This sounds remarkably similar to what John saw after he witnessed the multitudes in white robes and Jesus open the seventh seal.

Rev 8:1-6 “And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour. And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets (G4536). And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets (G4536) prepared themselves to sound.”

If only the two sticks, Israel and Ephraim, could be made one.

When the two branches are grafted together, you get a perfect picture of the Revelations that John and many other prophets wrote of.

Are we going to wait until you hear the sounds of Yom Teruah to awaken?

1Th 5:6 “Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.”

...Or will we be the bride who has her wedding garment ready, lamps trimmed and full of oil, awakened, listening, and looking for the sign of the coming of her Bridegroom?

Will we humble ourselves, pray, seek GOD’s face, turn from and repent for our wicked ways?

Will we choose to obey and do GOD’s commandments, the code of wisdom, including “I am the LORD your GOD,” until Jesus comes for His bride?

Rev 22:12-14 “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”

Psa 89:15-18 “Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound (Teruah): they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance. In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted. For thou art the glory of their strength: and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted. For the LORD is our defence; and the Holy One of Israel is our king.”

To all those who read this,

The LORD bless you, and keep you:

The LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you:

The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. Amen.
